Looking for a way to help chip away at the price of school? Look no further!

 

Scholarships

We believe that education is an important part of the success of our communities. We are proud to support our youth by helping them reach their goals through our scholarships:

  • Two $1,500 scholarships are available to students graduating high school.

  • One $1,500 scholarship is available to post-secondary students returning to school.

High School


ELIGIBILITY

  • Membership: Applicant must be a member of the Churchbridge Credit Union, or have a parent who has been a member for at least one year.
  • Program Preference: Preference will be given to students enrolling in Business, Business Administration, Business Agriculture, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, or Agriculture in Fall 2026. However, all fields of study will be considered.
  • Transcript & Enrollment Requirement: Applicants must provide their high school transcript and proof of enrollment in a post‑secondary institution.
  • Essay Requirement: Submit an approximately 300‑word essay on either of the following topics: Explain how you would describe the Credit Union to someone who has never heard of it, or Explain what "community" means to you.


SELECTION

  • Selection Process: The recipient will be chosen by the Churchbridge Credit Union selection committee.
  • Evaluation Criteria:
    • Community involvement
    • Extracurricular activities
    • Integrity and leadership
    • Volunteer work
    • Academic achievement
    • Financial need
  • Publication Consent: The recipient’s name, photograph, and essay may be published in the Churchbridge Credit Union newsletter, on the website, in-branch, and on Churchbridge Credit Union social media pages.
  • Deadline: Applications are accepted until May 31 each year. Recipients will be notified once the selection process is complete.
  • Claiming Scholarship Funds: Scholarship funds must be claimed by December 31 of the year they are awarded. The recipient must submit their transcripts and enrollment documents by this date to receive the award.

Post-Secondary

ELIGIBILITY

  • Membership: Applicant must be a member of the Churchbridge Credit Union, or have a parent who has been a member for at least one year.
  • Education: Must have completed one year of post‑secondary education and be returning to a post‑secondary program within the same calendar year. Eligible institutions include:
    • Universities
    • Institutes of Applied Science and Technology
    • Business Colleges
  • Required documents: Proof of acceptance, proof of enrollment, and proof of full‑time status.
  • Program Preference: Preference will be given to students enrolling in Business, Business Administration, Business Agriculture, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, or Agriculture in Fall 2026. However, all fields of study will be considered.
  • Essay Requirement: Submit an approximately 500‑word essay on the following topic: “Explain why credit unions are now, more than ever, relevant in today’s society.”


SELECTION
